Going Deeper with Jonah

What do you make of the book of Jonah? It makes me laugh! Surely it qualifies as one of the best-known stories in the Bible, but is it just a ‘fishy tale’ or should we take it more seriously?

There is no doubt it is full of humour, satire, irony, hyperbole, and miracles, which all bring the story to life. It is also an emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions! But what does it tell us about God and what vital lessons might He want to teach us through Jonah’s experience?

Let’s take a deep breath as we prepare to dive into the stormy waters of the Mediterranean Sea before making our way across the dry, dusty desert of northern Iraq to reach Nineveh, eventually!
