How Anti Social is Social Media?

Smartphones and social media apps are here to stay and their use is increasing around the world. Although there are many positive benefits to this technology, it is also becoming clear that there are considerable downsides and dangers in how it is currently being promoted and used.

This article, which is something of a wake-up call, considers what some of the main dangers are, especially for our children and young people, and what steps need to be taken to minimise negative, harmful effects.

Finally, the article puts forward some relevant Bible verses which speak into the issues raised. Rather than allowing unfettered access to everything, everywhere, at any age, God’s word provides secure boundaries and a framework within which he wants us all to operate for our safety, security, freedom, and wellbeing.
